Geronimo Allison/Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers
After spending a few weeks on the shelf with injuries, both Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb sound ready to retake the field.
Before their injuries, both Allison and Cobb were enjoying success on the field. Allison had 2 TD’s in the first three weeks while Cobb showed massive upside in Week 1 with a 9/142/1 line. Cobb fizzled after that, however, and has struggled to stay healthy over his career. Cobb has also been the subject of trade talks dating back to the preseason.
Though Allison and Cobb are expected to slide back into their respective roles behind Davante Adams on the depth chart, it may not be quite that simple. In their absence, rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling has shown worthy of active duty in the NFL and offers Aaron Rodgers game breaking speed with a 4.37 second 40-yard dash time.
As of Friday, both Allison and Cobb have seen their ownership levels drop under 60% in Yahoo leagues which makes both worthy of late week adds if you’re struggling to fill holes. Allison sounds like he is closer to full health over Cobb at the moment and likely offers a better shot at sustaining value all season. This WR corps will be a situation to monitor as we find out who the best bets are to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers over the back half of the fantasy season.
