The Watchlist is a unique article we will be putting out every week here at Bruno Boys. It’s considered a sleeper piece of sorts that will tackle players who generally sport an ownership level of 50% or lower.

The goal is to seek out some deep sleepers who have been trending in a positive direction but flying under the radar in popular circles in the fantasy community. This will help get you introduced to players before your league mates and before these players potentially become a hot waiver wire add in coming weeks.

This will also help provide insight for those in deeper leagues or dynasty formats where rosters are much larger and content on lesser owned players is harder to come by. Here are a few names we are keeping a close eye on this week:

Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns

While Carlos Hyde has been the clear-cut lead back for the Browns so far this season, Nick Chubb reminded us last week why he carried so much sleeper appeal coming into the season. Chubb was able to turn only 3 rushing attempts into 105 yards and 2 TD’s last week against the Raiders. Chubb’s big play ability was on display as he ripped off long TD runs of 63 and 41 yards.

A second round draft pick out of Georgia, Chubb offers incredible athleticism with a 98th percentile SPARQ score. He is not seeing the field anywhere near enough to be considered more than a handcuff, but he is showing that he could be one of the most explosive backs in the league if Carlos Hyde were to miss time with an injury. Predicting injury isn’t an exact science, but in this case it is worth noting that last season was the first time Hyde played all 16 games in his career. Chubb is worth an add in 14+ team leagues as a bench stash if you have room and still holds solid future value in dynasty leagues. He will be the top waiver add if Hyde ever missed time.
