The tight end position has seen a little bit of everything. Every week it seems we have a new names to consider. Some young ones developing right on time and that’s very encouraging for what is typically a talent-starved position. Then there are the journeymen whose names we kick around and stream each week.

It’s not always easy to navigate this feast or famine position, but we’re always looking out for the right matchups. Right now, let’s see which ones do NOT pass the grade for Week 7.

Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans

We’ve seen some highs and some lows with Tonyan. Even though he’s got a tremendous matchup against the Texans, who have allowed fantasy worthy games to Travis Kelce and Eric Ebron and of all people, Anthony Firkser (after Jonnu Smith went down with an ankle injury) we’re fading Tonyan because he is nursing an ankle injury too.

It is looking like a game time decision since he hasn’t practiced in full as of Thursday. Monitor the situation and if there’s any doubt he’ll play at 100 percent, we’d look to another tight end in Week 7.
