Kickers are always a wild card that can keep owners guessing week in and out over who to start. We like to look at how good the opposing defenses are, the game scripts that would allow a high scoring affair and kicker accuracy. Let’s see which ones pass the grade for Week 6.
Matt Prater, Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars
It’s been either all or nothing for Prater this season. In four games, he’s had two near-goose eggs and two top 5 finishes where he kicked at least three field goals in. Given that last fact, Prater has flown under the radar because the Lions are anything but consistent, nor do they fill you with much confidence on a weekly basis, but there are points here that going to waste.
Fantasy kickers are averaging 12.0 points against the Jaguars as all but one have booted through multiple field goals and at least three extra points. That’s at least five scoring drives, if not more for the Lions and Prater. If you’re in need of a kicker this week, don’t let that go to waste too.
