The 2020 season was full of difficult decisions in selecting the right waiver wire claims and knowing when to drop a player. Kickers are always a wild card that can keep owners guessing week in and out over who to start. We like to look at how good the opposing defenses are, the game scripts that would allow a high scoring affair and kicker accuracy. In this final week, we look to which teams are the ones most desperate to hang on and score points in any form. Let’s see which ones pass the grade for Week 17.
Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills
Desperation is a big motivator. The Dolphins need to win and they’re in or lose and wait for others to lose too. So with destiny in their own hands, you can bet that if the Dolphins get into field goal range, with Tua Tagovailoa under center, Sanders will be brought out on fourth down to finish off the drive.
There’s no telling how much Buffalo will resist, but there is something Buffalo gains with a win–home field advantage to possibly two rounds of the playoffs. Buffalo’s offense has been rolling, so the Dolphins will need to score enough to either maintain a lead or keep the Bills within striking distance. In both scenarios, Sanders will be relied on.
