Kickers are always a wild card that can keep owners guessing week in and out over who to start. We like to look at how good the opposing defenses are, the game scripts that would allow a high scoring affair and kicker accuracy. Let’s see which ones do NOT the grade for Week 2.
Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens
Fairbairn is a tough kicker to bench because he can make all the long range kicks and Deshaun Watson is always moving his team in position to score. Last week the Texans got into a shootout but didn’t have the right kind of ammunition to stack up. This week, the Texans find themselves in a potential vacuum against the Ravens, which stymied the Browns in Week 1. The Texans don’t have that special player besides Watson to put defenses on their heels. David Johnson can do that on occasions but is in danger of getting swallowed up by this defense. Fairbairn won’t get enough chances to be fantasy relevant this week.
