Check out Marc Caviglia’s fantasy football rankings and hot takes on the Week 6 tight end matchups:
- Evan Engram continues to disappoint as a pass catcher for the New York Giants. He has just 18 receptions for 147 yards and 0 touchdowns through five games. He did score his first TD of the season on a running play in Week 5. However, I like his chances of putting together his first complete game of 2020 against the Washington Football Team on Sunday. Opposing tight ends have averaged 12.6 yards per catch and scored 1 TD per game against Washington, and this is something that I expect quarterback Daniel Jones to exploit as the Giants look for their first win of the season. Engram should see 7-10 targets and flirt with a season high in yardage while scoring a TD this week
- A tight end that has been a big disappointment so far this season is Tyler Higbee of the Los Angeles Rams. He developed into QB Jared Goff’s favorite target down the stretch of 2019 but has been losing targets to fellow TE Gerald Everett over the last three weeks. Take away his 3 TD performance in Week 2 and Higbee has just 10 receptions for 112 yards over four games and just 5 receptions for 32 yards over his last two games. On top of that, he’s seen only 10 targets over his last three games. What this tells me is that the Rams are using him more as a blocker and he’s going to be inconsistent weekly. Plus, it’s not an ideal matchup with the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
