The 2020 NFL season is just 2 weeks old and there is no better time than now to start picking up players from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-50 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season.

Instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 3.

Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

Gesicki was a popular tight end sleeper heading into the season, then he promptly delivered a three-catch, 30- yard dud in Week 1. But in Week 2 he got back in the good graces, with eight receptions (on 11 targets) for 129 yards and a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills. Week 3 looks like a good opportunity to keep the momentum going.

Titans tight end Jonnu Smith is a tough matchup just like Gesicki, and he had four catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Gesicki gets the Jaguars next in Week 3, on Thursday night.

The matchups immediately after Week 3 aren’t great for Gesicki, with the Seattle Seahawks (Week 4), San Francisco 49ers (Week 5), Denver Broncos (Week 6) and Los Angeles Chargers (Week 7) on the slate. But he looks like a TE1 again, and last week’s short-sighted trend to drop him is set to reverse in kind this week.
