Robby Anderson, WR, Carolina Panthers
Anderson had a nice Panthers debut on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, with six receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown (with a two-point conversion to boot). Perhaps more notably, he had the second-most targets on the team (eight).
A young defense is sure to have the Panthers chasing points all season and because of this Anderson should have staying power. The next two weeks Anderson has matchups in Week 2 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Week 3 (Los Angeles Chargers) that look somewhat challenging on a surface level, but Week 4 (Arizona Cardinals) and Week 5 (Atlanta Falcons) look very favorable.
There’s a big gap in Anderson’s ownership between Yahoo! and ESPN, however wise owners will find a way to add the speedster for depth. Anderson’s big play ability makes him a boom-or-bust option, since he often relies on the deep ball, but veteran should be added in both PPR and non-PPR leagues as a high-end WR4 that has the upside to become a weekly start for you.
