Jerick McKinnon, RB, San Francisco 49ers

After missing the last two seasons, McKinnon played in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. He finished with 24 yards on three carries, along with three catches (on five targets) for 20 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers will still be a Shanahan backfield, with Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman and McKinnon splitting the work as long as all three are healthy. But Mostert’s receiving touchdown was fluky (76 yards), so there is room for someone to be the primary passing target.

It will be impossible to predict McKinnon’s useful fantasy weeks as things are right now. But he is worth a roster spot in deeper leagues, with some value otherwise for the running back desperate.
