Philip Rivers, QB, Indianapolis Colts
Rivers threw two bad interceptions in a Week1 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars, bu the otherwise delivered for his fantasy owners (36-for-46 for 363 yards and a touchdown).
Rivers has a ripe matchup in Week 2 against a Vikings secondary that was non-existent in the season opener. With a green group of cornerbacks in prominent roles, the Vikings were torched by Aaron Rodgers to the tune of 364 yards and four touchdown passes. Rivers can’t create on the move the way Rodgers still can, but a very good offensive line should protect him plenty well as the Vikings will still be without Danielle Hunter.
Rivers also has good-looking matchups in Week 3 (Jets), Week 5 (Browns) and Week 6 (Bengals) and the veteran looks like a sustainable fantasy commodity, on the low-end QB1 (when the matchup is right) / high-end QB2 border with allowance for a couple ill-advised throws per game.
