Ito Smith RB , Atlanta Falcons
Smith had 10 carries for 46 yards and one catch for five yards against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, operating as the lead back (though barely out-touching Todd Gurley) as interim head coach Raheem Morris promised. He has double-digit carries and at least 45 total yards in three of the last five games.
Without getting cute about it, Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a bad matchup. But they have clinched a playoff spot, and head coach Bruce Arians has said resting key players in the regular season finale is on the table. What that would mean on the defensive side of the ball is unclear, but it’s safe to assume backups would get a lot of run.

Smith’s upside isn’t fantastic, but he does have a solid role in an offense going against a defense that’s not necessarily going to play starters all four quarters in Week 17. That’s enough to make him a flex option in leagues with 12 or more teams.
