Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots
Ryan Tannehill’s record against the Patriots precedes him but while all eyes are on Tannehill and his ability to break New England’s secondary, the Titans will be smart to feed the ball to Henry 30-35 times. Opposing teams tend to fear the Patriots run defense, but some have attacked it and when they do so, by giving their feature back 20+ touches, good things happen.
Nick Chubb, Joe Mixon, Zeke Elliott have all done well with that kind of volume and Mark Ingram and Frank Gore went over the century mark against New England on 17 touches each. No one, and I mean no single defender is going to be able to take Henry down when he has a full head of steam. So unless the Patriots are in gang-tackle mode, for four full quarters, I go all in on the 2019 rushing title winner.
