13. Vikings 38, Eagles 20
MIN – Kirk Cousins picked on a depleted secondary to notch 333 passing yards and four touchdowns on the Eagles. It was a huge day for Stefon Diggs, a flex worthy day for Adam Thielen and a very split backfield for Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison, who continues to show independent value.
PHI – Four different receivers were targeted at least seven times though no one had a standout day as much as Alshon Jeffery. Miles Sanders also continued to show dual threat capability, turning three catches into 86 yards and a touchdown. As for Carson Wentz, it wasn’t pretty but it wasn’t an awful day either. They just couldn’t make up for the hole that their defense put them in.
14. Packers 23, Lions 22
GBP – The return of Jamal Williams gave Matt LeFleur the power run game he desires as he went over 100 yards (14/104/0), even though he split carries with Aaron Jones (11/47/0). Already down Davante Adams, the team lost Geronimo Allison for the night. As much as Aaron Rodgers tried to force it into Jimmy Graham, it was Allen Lazard who stepped up to make the big plays down the stretch.
DET – The Lions lost a nail biter with an assist from the refs, even though they were in control for most of the game. Their problem wasn’t moving the ball though, it was punching it into the end zone as they settled for five Matt Prater field goals. 2-2-1 is not a bad record, but it’s just how they got the two losses and tie, that would worry me as a fantasy owner of either Matthew Stafford, Kenny Golladay, and Kerryon Johnson.
