10. Titans 0, Broncos 16
DEN – It was a defensive struggle but Phillip Lindsay’s hard running was all it took as the Broncos’ defense came up big for the second week in a row, without Bradley Chubb. Emmanuel Sanders left with a knee injury but will need to heal quick for a short turnaround for the Thursday night game against the Chiefs.
TEN – It took six games but finally, Marcus Mariota was benched as this offense has not evolved since he was drafted. This year he can’t even blame any injuries. Ryan Tannehill was brought in and fared a little better but even Derrick Henry had an off game. With a quarterback controversy brewing and an offense stuck in park, we would avoid all Titans players outside of the team defense, moving forward.
11. Rams 7, 49ers 20
SFO – It was a George Kittle who supplemented the Niners’ rushing attack with eight catches for 103 yards. Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t have to do much in this game but their plan is to run the ball and play stifling defense, which they’ve done up to this point in the season.
LAR – Jared Goff could not handle the pass rush, as he threw for just 78 yards and a 1.1 QBR rating. In turn, the Niners secondary didn’t have to do much as they controlled the Rams’ rushing attack of Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson. Defensively, Aqib Talib has been sent to the IR and the team then dealt Marcus Peters. Look for opposing teams to test this secondary now.
12. Falcons 33, Cardinals 34
ATL – Can you believe that Matt Ryan threw for 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns (4) for the sixth straight game in a losing effort? Look, I know people want to pile onto Matt Bryant missing an extra point, but the Falcons cannot stop anyone on defense. Offensively they’re rock solid from Austin Hooper through to Devonta Freeman.
ARI – David Johnson owners are beginning to worry that Kyler Murray is biting into his production and their concern is warranted. Murray had nearly as many carries as Johnson but thankfully targeted him eight times in the passing game. Not having Christian Kirk hurt, but not that much as Chase Edmonds and Max Williams made big plays and touchdown catches. Defensively, another tight end torched the Cardinals, but we’ll see if getting Patrick Peterson will help them in the secondary.
