Now that we are past the midpoint of the regular season of the NFL, we are in the vital stretch of the season where championships remain in the horizon or never get closer for teams struggling as there’s just a month left before the playoffs start. Key teams on bye include Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons.

Seasoned fantasy players know about the studs and chalky plays so at Bruno Boys we try to help wade through the matchups on those tougher decisions, or point out when there’s a great matchup that you should go all-in on.

Still, we feel very strong about these recommendations and you should use them to help guide you to your starting lineup.

Here are your Week 9 Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Sit.

Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants

Historically, Witten has had some terrific games against the Giants but this year has been an odd one for the veteran who came out of retirement. After recording a touchdown in his first two games, Witten has fallen down Dak Prescott’s progressions and hasn’t been featured as much in the red zone. He’s still getting around four targets per game but he hasn’t scored in five games, which means he’s due, but the Giants have stout against the position.

After allowing the Cowboys’ tight ends, Witten and Blake Jarwin score against them in Week 1, they have shut out all other tight ends from scoring, and further more, only one has caught for more than 31 yards since that opening week. As with Witten, there’s always a chance, especially against the Giants, but with Amari Cooper back, and the matchup not in his favor, we don’t expect much more than TE2 numbers for Witten again.
