Drafts are done. The regular season is here and now that you’ve finalized your roster, it’s time to put the right players forward and start the season fast. Seasoned fantasy players know about the studs and chalky plays so at Bruno Boys we try to help wade through the matchups on those tougher decisions, or point out when there’s a great matchup that you should go all-in on. On the flip side, sometimes you want start someone but all signs are pointing to a benching.

The early part of the season can be a tough one since the preseason shows so little to go on. Still, we feel very strong about these recommendations and you should use them to help guide you to your starting lineup.

Here are your Week 1 Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Sit.

Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings

With the tight end position being so thin and starving for production, it’s not easy to tell fantasy owners that they bench their starters. In this case, as potent as the Falcons are, the Vikings are a tough matchup for nearly every skill position out there. The last time they gave up a touchdown by a tight end? Try Week 7 of 2018. Also, last season, the Vikings allowed just four tight ends to accumulate more than 60 yards receiving, three of which were elite or former elite tight ends and none past Week 6. Hooper is neither elite nor is anything above the fourth option in a big offense, but against the Vikings, is likely to be barely there.
