Drafts are done. The regular season is here and now that you’ve finalized your roster, it’s time to put the right players forward and start the season fast. Seasoned fantasy players know about the studs and chalky plays so at Bruno Boys we try to help wade through the matchups on those tougher decisions, or point out when there’s a great matchup that you should go all-in on. On the flip side, sometimes you want start someone but all signs are pointing to a benching.

The early part of the season can be a tough one since the preseason shows so little to go on. Still, we feel very strong about these recommendations and you should use them to help guide you to your starting lineup.

Here are your Week 1 Fantasy Football Team Defenses to Sit.

Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints

Defense is normally an area that the Texans excel at but some of their impact players departed in free agency, especially at safety. Jadaveon Clowney was shipped off to Seattle last week after contract extension negotiations came at an impasse so there are question marks on the road in Week 1 in New Orleans and the answers don’t always materialize in time for the start of the season.

Conversely, the Saints are locked and loaded for another season with little changed for the worse. They are arguably better at the offensive skill positions with Jared Cook as an added weapon, Latavius Murray too. The line returns with mostly Pro Bowlers and a question mark at center after Max Unger retired. This defense is going to miss Clowney in the run game and rushing the passer. Romeo Crennel will always draw something up, but I wonder if the Texans have enough to slow the Saints down.
