David Montgomery, Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles
Montgomery has had a decent rookie season, showing flashes of being a true workhorse back, then also showing the struggles of learning the ropes. He’s only broken 100 rushing yards once, which happened last week against the Chargers but since he’s been a matchup play all year, we’d advise owners to bench Montgomery for Week 9.
Even though backs have scored against the Eagles, only two have reached 50 yards rushing. From the receiving end, the only back who caught for more than 45 yards was Chris Thompson back in Week 1. In other words, unless Montgomery can hit pay dirt–a tall task against Philly–there will be better days ahead.
