The 2019 NFL season is now 8 weeks old and there is still enough time to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire wide receivers for Week 9.

Tyrell Williams, WR, Oakland Raiders

Williams returned on Sunday against the Houston Texans after missing two games with a foot injury, and he finished with three receptions (on six targets) for 91 yards and a touchdown. He has at least six targets in four of the five games he has played this season, with a touchdown in all five.

Williams has a bunch of middle of the road to somewhat tough-looking matchups coming, with the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers (twice), Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars on the slate from Week 9-Week 16. If there’s a sneaky angle to be had, it’s the Lions, Jets and Jaguars entering Week 8 among the top-10 in targets per game allowed to wide receivers.

Williams won’t score in every game (right?), but he’s in line to be a weekly WR2/WR3 in all leagues going forward. He’s widely enough available to be worth checking on, and don’t hesitate to drop someone with less upside if he is available in your league.
