The 2019 NFL season is now 6 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 7.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings
Cousins went 22-for-29 for 333 yards with four touchdowns and an interception against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He has now topped 300 yards in back-to-back games, while completing more than 75 percent of his passes and topping 11 yards per attempt in each contest.
Cousins has fully exploited two cushy matchups, and he’s set to keep it going. His Week 13 opponent, the Detroit Lions, entered Week 6 in the bottom half of the league against quarterbacks, albeit without top cornerback Darius Slay for all of part of their last two games. Slay is set to return Monday night against the Green Bay Packers.
After that Cousins gets the Washington Redskins in Week 8 and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9. Beyond the revenge game angle, Washington entered Week 6 allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. The Chiefs are in the bottom half of the league against quarterbacks, with over 260 passing yards allowed in four of six games this season.
Things get tougher for Cousins in Week 10 (Dallas Cowboys) and Week 11 (Denver Broncos), then he gets the latest possible bye in Week 12. But over the next three week, as has been the case over the past two, he’s set to deliver legit QB1 fantasy numbers.
