Carlos Hyde, RB, Houston Texans

Hyde had 26 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown, along with one catch for 14 yards, against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. He has now scored in three of the last four games, with over 20 carries in back-to-back contests (20 or more carries in three of six games overall this season).

Duke Johnson had a receiving touchdown on seven touches on Sunday. But Hyde is the traditional lead back and a solid fantasy play based purely on the volume he’s getting.

Over the next three weeks Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who entered Week 6 in the bottom 10 of the league against running backs, easily stands as Hyde’s easiest matchup. But the Indianapolis Colts (Week 7) and Oakland Raiders (Week 8) are both in the middle to low end in running back carries against (per game) entering Week 6, and the Colts are allowing 4.7 yards per carry to running backs.

Hyde is pretty widely owned, but there’s still a fair amount of room to add him. With inherent fantasy value in a back who’s getting nice volume as part of a potent offense, he should be closer to 100 percent owned and he has to be owned in 12-team leagues.
