Chase Edmonds, RB, Arizona Cardinals

Edmonds had five carries for 34 yards along with two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. Over the last two games, with David Johnson (back) a little banged up, he has averaged 76.5 yards from scrimmage per game with a touchdown by ground and by air.

Johnson will surely not be 100 percent by next Sunday, so a relative workload split with Edmonds could be coming. The New York Giants entered Week 6 in the middle of the pack against running backs (21.90 per game; Yahoo! scoring), but they have allowed 4.6 yards per carry and 11.5 yards per catch to the position with 17 catches allowed to the position over their last two games.

Johnson’s status will determine Edmonds’ workload, in Week 7 and beyond. But it’s not like back issues magically go away, and Edmonds is worth adding as a priority handcuff with standalone flex value in 12 and 14-team leagues.
