The 2019 NFL season is now 5 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 6.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, New Orleans Saints
Bridgewater went 26-for-34 for 314 yards with four touchdowns and an interception in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has completed at least 70 percent of his passes in all three games as the starter in place of Drew Brees (thumb), with multiple passing touchdowns twice. In Week 6, he’s in good position to keep the momentum going.
After holding Kyle Allen in check in Week 5, the Jacksonville Jaguars may have edged into the top half of the league against quarterbacks by the time you’re reading this. But they have allowed over 300 yards through the air in three of their five games, and two of those quarterbacks were Marcus Mariota and Joe Flacco. Add in the ongoing iffy status of top cornerback Jalen Ramsey, with a back injury and a trade request, and the matchup is pretty good for Bridgewater.
With Brees already throwing, his return may come faster than expected. But Bridgewater has the job right now, and for Week 6 he’s a solid bye week fill-in and a good start in two-quarterback leagues.
