The 2019 NFL season is just 4 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 5.

Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It was thought to be a tough matchup, but Winston went 28-for-41 for 385 yards with four touchdowns and an interception against the Los Angeles Rams on Week 4. He has now thrown for at least 380 yards in back-to-back games, with seven combined touchdowns and just two interceptions in 78 pass attempts. Week 5 brings what could be seen as another tough matchup, at least in recent light.

The New Orleans Saints held the Dallas Cowboys’ offense in check Week 4, as Dak Prescott had just 223 passing yards with an interception. But entering last week they had allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring), with multiple passing touchdowns allowed in two of three games and a rushing score allowed to the position in all three.

Winston is on a hot streak right now, and the Saints were bad against quarterbacks prior to last week. You can’t expect 380 yards in a third straight game, but there’s QB1 upside here and the former No. 1 overall pick is pretty widely available.
