The 2019 NFL season is 2 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire running backs for Week 3.
Carlos Hyde, RB, Houston Texans
After looking good in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints (10 carries for 83 yards, a league-best Elusive Rating according to Pro Football Focus), Hyde had 20 carries for 90 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Any sort of passing game usage would be nice, but Hyde is clearly out-carrying Duke Johnson (15 carries) through two games.
From Week 3-Week 8, Hyde gets a string of good-looking matchups against the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts and Oakland Raiders. Even without notable production as a pass catcher, he’ll be worth considering as a RB2 or flex each of those weeks as it looks now.
Hyde is getting a majority share of the carries for the Texans, and has looked pretty good while doing so. He has to be added in all 12-team leagues.
