The 2019 NFL season is 2 weeks old and there is still enough time to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire wide receivers for Week 3.
DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Metcalf had four catches for 89 yards in his NFL debut, then followed it with three catches for 61 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He also has at least six targets in both games, as Russell Wilson has looked his way pretty often.
With a generally run-heavy offense and other mouths to feed in the passing game, Metcalf’s opportunities could dry up some weeks. But a Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints looks promising, as does Week 4 (Arizona Cardinals), Week 5 (Los Angeles Rams) and Week 6 (Cleveland Browns).
Metcalf has a lot of boom-or-bust potential to him, but as a WR3/WR4 in standard 12-team leagues he’s worth a look on the waiver wire.
