The 2019 NFL season is just 2 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 3.
Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers
After looking rusty and out of sync in Week 1 against Tampa Bay, Garoppolo completed 17 of 25 passes for 297 yards with three touchdowns and an interception against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
San Francisco’s Week 4 bye has to be noted, but Garoppolo has a good matchup coming against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 followed by promising (if volume-based in some cases) matchups coming out of his bye against the Cleveland Browns (Week 5), Los Angeles Rams (Week 6), and Washington Redskins (Week 7).
Garoppolo has to prove he can be consistent, but he’s worth adding as a QB2 in 12-team leagues with the idea he’ll be a solid bye week fill-in after his own idle week.
