Vernon Davis, TE, Washington Redskins

Highlighted by a 48-yard catch and run touchdown, Davis finished with four receptions (on seven targets) for 59 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jordan Reed was out with yet another concussion, and with his status surely in question moving forward Davis is in line for a prominent role heading into a favorable Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 1, New York Giants Evan Engram had 11 catches (14 targets) for 116 yards and a touchdown. Davis is not a young talent like Engram, but you don’t have to squint too hard so see similarities.

As long as Reed is out, Davis is worth owning in fantasy leagues with more than 10 teams or in leagues of that size but with deeper rosters. For Week 2 alone, assuming Reed remains out, Davis is a top-end streaming tight end.
