Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions

Stafford turned back the clock a bit in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, as he completed 27 of 45 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 22 rushing yards.

Week 2 brings a solid matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, who allowed two touchdown passes to Jacoby Brissett in Week 1. After that Stafford gets more favorable-looking matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

The former No. 1 overall pick’s fantasy stock dropped coming off a dismal 2018, and with the hiring of notably run-heavy offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. But he’s got a string of matchups coming where he’ll be worth considering as a starting fantasy option, and he’s worth adding as a QB2 with QB1 potential.
