Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
With Joe Mixon suffering an ankle injury in the game, Dalton went 35-for-51 for a career-high 418 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. If Mixon misses time, which seems possible, the Bengals are almost sure to become a pass-oriented offense.
Head coach Zac Taylor faced a defense he’s familiar with from his time with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, and the Bengals will get another in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers also run a Seattle-influenced scheme, so that’s notable too.
After a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, things get easier for Dalton again in Week 4 (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Week 5 (Arizona Cardinals). He’s worth adding as a QB2 in 12 and 14-team leagues, and there’s some level of streaming appeal in three of the next four weeks.
