The 2019 NFL season is now 12 weeks old and there is still enough time to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire wide receivers for Week 13.
James Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Highlighted by a 79-yard touchdown, Washington had three catches (on seven targets) for 98 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12. He now has at least 69 yards in three of the last four games (90 or more yards twice), with a touchdown in two of the last three.
Pittsburgh’s quarterback issue, be it Mason Rudolph of Devin Hodges, holds down the entire passing game. But Ju Ju Smith-Schuster (knee, concussion) has vacated the No. 1 wide receiver role right now, and Washington’s touchdown last week game from Hodges.
The best upcoming matchup for Washington is Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals, with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills on either side of it. Week 16 against the New York Jets is a very favorable matchup.
Washington’s fantasy outlook over the rest of the season is tied to Smith-Schuster’s health, with only so many perimeter targets to go around. But the second-year man out of Oklahoma State is worth adding as a WR3/WR4 in 12 and 14-team leagues.
