Isaiah Crowell, RB, New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins

DK Price: $4,200

Crowell is a player who has been fairly game-flow dependent all season but has a few things working in his favor this week that make him an attractive target in DFS.

The Jets are coming off a rough matchup against a stout Chicago Bears front that left little room for Crowell to run. The Jets receiving corps has all but vanished over the last few weeks due to injury, however, and even Crowell’s main threat in the backfield, Bilal Powell, has been sent to IR. This didn’t mean much in a brutal matchup last week for Crowell but things could be much easier this week against a Dolphins defense that has surrendered the third most fantasy points to running backs this season on DraftKings.

Crowell is essentially guaranteed a large workload and has seen double digit carries in all but one game this season. He has also shown us his ability to break out for monster games by rushing for 219 yards in Week 5 against the Broncos. Crowell makes for a solid value play as your RB2 while leaving you enough cap space to shell out for a top-tier RB like Todd Gurley.

Duke Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns vs Kansas City Chiefs

DK Price: $3,800

An interesting RB value play that admittedly comes loaded with risk this week is Browns pass catching specialist, Duke Johnson.

Duke was a huge threat in the passing game last season but has been horribly underutilized this season with 6 touches or less in every game. Johnson still showed his big play ability however by going for 109 total yards as recent as Week 6 against the Chargers.

The Browns finally made serious changes to their coaching staff this week by firing both  head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Gregg Williams will take over as interim head coach while RB’s coach Freddie Kitchens will assume the role of offensive coordinator. A key to success for the new coaching staff is to obviously not repeat the same mistakes of the coaches before them, and with the former RB’s coach now calling the plays, we could finally see more creative and consistent usage for Duke Johnson going forward.

The matchup this week is also perfect for a big breakout from either or both of Duke Johnson and Nick Chubb as the Browns face a Chiefs defense that has given up the second most fantasy points to RB’s this season. The Chiefs are allowing an average of 179 total yards per game to RBs this season and have allowed 551 total receiving yards to RB’s this season which is the most in the league.

Duke comes loaded with obvious risk based on his consistently low touch totals all season, but change is finally happening in Cleveland and it could be for the better for Johnson. The Browns will have to be as aggressive as ever against the Chiefs top scoring offense this week which should present plenty of opportunities for all Browns skill position players.
